It's called a Variometer. In an unpowered glider your primary source of energy is the rising air around you caused by temperature differentials on the ground and in our atmosphere. This device basicaly audibly tells you wether the air around you is rising or sinking by changing between different levels of pitch. This energetic beeping indicates that i was moving through rising air, thus gaining energy (in this case Altitude) which allowed me to climb quickly into the sky without using an engine. These spots or rather funnels of warm rising air are pretty narrow most of the time. Thats the reason you can see me circling throughout the whole video. It is me trying to keep the glider as close to that thermals sweetspot as possible. Bascally like Eagles and Hawks do it. This is a very simpified explanation so take it with a grain of salt. Flying like this definity is an awesome experience because you are always working together with your glider, trying to use mother natures power for a joyride under the clouds!

Simple: its a film, not a dogfight, the su overshot the f-15, because they were both at full burner during the rolling scissors, in reality, the pilot would have pulled the thrust back a bit, so he could stay on the eagle's tail.

I know what you mean, but in this particular video i was going for a single clip without a single cut. Synching was not really possible on this one. Some of my other videos are synched tho :) Thanks for the feedback mate :)

Oh yes! they are really small and nimble. Keeping track of them is even harder, if you loose them once they are almost impossible to find again.

Well, i can try atleast :) But first of all let me mention this here : ua-cam.com/video/g4t9zM9sRpA/v-deo.html&t All that i did was borrowing some advice from this amazing guide. This will help you tremendously in keeping you organized, it will also tell you how to record, all the little intricates about the camera, and how you should approach this in general :) For me personally, the first thing that was there was the music. I heard this piece and knew i was going to make a video about it. Then i started playing DCS and having fun. I mostly do guns bfm, so thats the direction my video took and i just started flying several dogfights. Everytime i liked one i saved the trk for later recording. The material was recorded on Shadowplay set to 4k; 120mbit/s. I picked 4k because it allows shadowplay to record at a higher bitrate. Some goes for rendering and uploading to youtube. after synching those combat scenes, i was kinda disappointed with the thing because it felt off. I contacted Woonasart and he helped me alot by giving me solid technical and creative advice (asking for advice is not a bad thing) Then i reworked it, gave it a storytwist and added the external sounds. Done :) One advice i can give you tho is : if there is something you dont like when watching your project, dont hesitate, try to change it until you like it. take yourself some time until you are happy :) One of the big mistakes i made on several of my vids is that i didnt take the proper time it need to be truly done. Hope that helps you, but im kinda bad at giving advice, i always leave out the important bits and leave in the unnecessary x) Anyways , have a nice day Sir!
